Some people wondered about the pattern. I didn’t really have one, I sketched it and drew directly on test fabric and draped it from there. These are some progress pics, from original, to ugly insides, to final product. The original Tumblr post about The Coat is this one here, So, I needed a coat…

The rest of the pattern pieces and notes are on my LiveJournal - A Study in Coat - Pattern Sketches and Notes, for all those interested. Not for the faint hearted - some experience adjusting and drafting would be helpful, or just go at it with a test piece first in cheap fabric. You can see all previous posts on the topic by using the tag ‘How to Make’ on my LJ.

For my friend who was unable to download the latest series before all the megaupload/cyberlocker situation

my mom asks to watch Sherlock (Hounds of the Baskerville), but decided she wanted to finish Mob Wives first…I finally put it on for her AND THEN SHE KEEPS FALLING ASLEEP

I ask her if she wants me to turn it off (she’s kinda sick), she says no…I keep telling her to not fall asleep…

She asks me if I’m chastising her!!! No mom, no… >____>

it’s just

HOW CAN YOU FULLY ENJOY THE WONDERS AND GLORY OF SHERLOCK IF YOU KEEP FALLING ASLEEP!?

Hi-res photo:  Actress Lara Pulver, Series Executive Producer Rebecca Eaton and via satellite actor Benedict Cumberbatch speak onstage during the Masterpiece ‘Sherlock ll’ panel during the PBS portion of the 2012 Winter TCA Tour at The Langham Huntington Hotel and Spa on January 5, 2012 in Pasadena, California.

what whaaaaat? Benedict Cumberbatch was within driving distance from me? Was this event a thing that I could have gone to?! Or was it like…industry-only?

In other words…in which my roommate, Alice (c-u-m-b-e-r-b-a-t-c-h) decides that television shows are like horses….This video started as a reaction to finishing the first season of Dollhouse.
